Sometimes you meet people and you just know. You know you will be great friends. You know they are different from you, but the have enough of the same to find common ground and be interesting to one another. Med school gave us people like that.
Sometimes you people and you just know. You know that they annoy you or you really don't see eye to eye. You know that they are too different from you to find common ground. Med school gave us people like that.
We ended up friends with both kinds of people. People I feel blessed to have been friends with for a time.
Lately I've been really sad. Sad to let these people go. Many of them have already moved away. Good friends of ours left on Thursday while I was at work and I drove over to say goodbye and cried in my car on the way back to work. It hurts when you know you've met friends you want to share your life with and then your lives take different directions. In this case, they are merely geographic, but I know me. I know I'm terrible at keeping up with friends down the street, when you put those friends across the country, I'm going to fail big time.
I'm feeling pretty hesitant to move on to this next step in life. I'm not sure what the next year looks like and that's hard for me. It's hard to see people leave and it's hard to not know what life will look like for the next year (or 4).
When I saw the title I thought this was going to be a post about the end of the world! :)
