You might not know it, but I have sisters. Three, in fact. Having sisters is not always great, especially if you haven't grown up with sisters, but now that I have them, I wouldn't trade them for anything. Pros far outweigh the cons when it comes to sisters. Cons, by the way, are mostly due to the fact that I am used to being the only one who brings drama to the table. Multiply it and sometimes things get crazy, but what fun is a not crazy family?
Meet my awesome sisters:
Abby. The oldest, most independent, and most athletic. This woman rocks! Not exaggerating either. She basically does a hardcore biking/running/swimming competition each weekend. Just thinking about her makes me feel lazy. Typically she is raising money for diabetes (which she has and you'd never know it), but she's equal opportunity generous with her endeavors and supports other causes as well. Add being beautiful, funny, and smart and she's hard to beat. Did I mention she is flying in from Baltimore to do a marathon with me this weekend? Yeah, she's amazing. I love Abby for her determination, commitment to a healthy lifestyle, and her wit.
Kelli. The middle girl, and geographically the closest sister to us. Kelli is uber-smart (studying to be a doctor), stop traffic gorgeous, goofy, and compassionate. Kelli is sweet and kind and loves people with her whole heart. I've been blessed to see Kelli grow in her independence and confidence. She's really become a woman right before my eyes. I love her so much and am really thankful to call her a sister and a friend.
Suzi. The baby. Suzi is sweet and quiet and creative. She's responsible well beyond her years. The girl knows thrifty people. She's a wizard in the kitchen and chic in a really modern, tasteful way. Suzi is the kind of woman who someday will be the mom who has it all together with kids dressed to a T, fresh cookies after school, and a husband who adores her. Of course she'll also have a bestselling novel and be President of the PTA. Suzi is so practical and patient and I really love her for that.
I'd tell you about my super cool MIL, but you'd think I was making it all up. Maybe some other day.
All this is really just to say it's a blessing to have more than doubled my family when I married Pete. I'm lucky to be his wife and lucky to say his family feels like my own.

Love this post!! and that is an awesome pic of Kelli
ReplyDeleteYou are blessed by your sisters! What a fun post. And man oh man--Pete's family has been giving a double share of blessing. Just so you know, he had to have someone pretty amazing and special to fit in with this brood. And missy, you fit the bill perfectly.
