It's been awhile

The longer I go without blogging the easier it is to just not blog. Who even cares? No one really, but here I am. Mostly just because it's the easiest place for me to get thoughts out. So here are some things on my mind in bullet-point.
-Thank goodness it's a Jimmy John's going up down the street. I was sincerely worried it would be a Starbucks or Dairy Queen.
-Gay marriage/Chick-fil-a is all up in my social media feeds' business. Welcome to an election year?
-I've been keeping busy with projects during my 2 months off during the summer. What, you didn't know I get two months off? Well I do. And I am loving every single minute of it.
-Addy is growing so fast. I'm not sure I'm ready to do it again, but darn it she's growing up and I want her to have siblings before she's in college (which is right around the corner!).
-My stepdad called me organized the other day. Just thought that should be recorded for historical purposes.
-My mother-in-law sent scotcheroos. It's not nice and I won't have them in my house. Mostly because I ate them all, but also because I am trying to lose weight.
-What makes a good mother? Probably just having one that teaches you something. I'm reading a book by the owner/founder of Four Seasons and all his references to his mother talk about how she was so busy working and never played with him, but he learned independence and hard work from her. My GirlTalk blog says I should be spending most of my time bringing my kids up on the ways of the Lord. Perhaps those two things can be similar to some degree? Man. Parenting is hard. I can't seem to get a straight answer out of anyone.
-I'm still really sad that my mom is gone. You know, somedays, it just hits you and you realize you can't share that little thing about being a mom or about being a wife or about being a daughter with her. Every woman should have a woman they can share their insecurities, their fears, their conflicts with.
-Staying at home gives me a lot of time to be in my head. I question everything. I answer none of these questions.
