I wrote this almost 2 months ago. I'm so glad I did so I'll never forget the rush of emotions, the heartache and joy.
It's been over a week since I first let that tingling excitement start to grow. Finally, when I couldn't stand waiting any longer, I left work early, drove to Walmart, bought the test, ran to my car in a quick down pour and then drove home. Nervous. So nervous. I hadn't let myself hope this much in so long. I was scared it would say no, even though I was a week late. But then, there it was. PREGNANT.
The word I couldn't bring myself to think of anymore. The hope I had suppressed until it could fit in just a tiny little corner of my heart. Just three weeks before the test I sat on a living room floor surrounded by my women's small group. They prayed. I wept. My heart broken with desire for another baby. And God heard. And he answered our prayers.
And each day is so long as we wait for this child to come. We dream all day of what it will be like to hold a baby again. We dream of telling our Addy and our family and friends. Our excitement is so great! I feel like I can breathe again. Like I've been holding my breath all this time and now I can finally exhale.
Thank you Lord, for hearing our prayers, for having mercy on my broken heart. This is truly a gift, and we are cherishing every single moment.
