Marathon training.

I can't figure out the right combination of letters to convey the sarcasm in the above title.
I went for my first run in roughly a year. My first run since having Adalie. I'm using the word "run" pretty loosely here. I struck out with such a feeling of freedom. Pete had suggested I go for a run, and I said, "Yes!" I put on those running tights and popped in my ipod and turned on my Runkeeper app.
I was surprised when my Runkeeper periodically reminded me that I had to stop running after .25 miles and therefore my pace was decreasing rapidly. She kindly would say, "5 minutes, .37 miles, 13:26 pace." She wasn't condescending or judgmental at all. And I thank her for that.
I came back feeling refreshed.
When I went to stop my runkeeper and save my "workout" it had a toggle that said "Post to facebook?" I laughingly selected No. Well that didn't keep good ole Runkeeper from announcing on facebook that I had set a new record! Longest workout! Best time! Congratulations me! When you're comparing me to a rock, I really get after it.
The best part of accomplishing so little, is being a bit better next time doesn't seem so daunting. :)

  1. This is a wonderful post. I have not run since Nora has been born....that beats your record. I've been doing yoga to get my self back into the swing of things before I bust out the jogger stroller. Did you get that BOB thing?
