Disconnected

Lots of people work long hours, and lots of people have to make sacrifices to make ends meet. People go through all kinds of trials and sorrows, and there are single parents and even homeless families out there. My troubles are so small, yet so consuming. You know that saying that God only gives you as much as you can handle? Isn't that a funny thing? Because don't you sometimes feel like you can't handle it at all?

Perhaps it's just me. I know what's wrong, the problem is there is nothing that can be done to remedy the situation. There's no replacement for time with my husband. There's no one who can fill a void like that. And more than feeling lonely and overwhelmed and irratable, I feel too wrapped up in it to do what I want to do, which is be supportive for my friends who are going through some tough things too.

  1. Awe friend, this is just the season you are in. It's okay to not be happy about missing out on so many hours with Pete; that just plain stinks. It's okay to feel that way. Just remember to feel happy about the many blessings you have as well, which I know you do realize!

Not for the present sorrows but in light of future joy. Hugs!

  2. I know this is such a tough time for your family. But it's amazing that God gives us seasons in our life--that we are not stuck with the same circumstances forever. And woman, let me tell you know, you are a supportive friend. This, too, shall pass. Until then, we'll stand right by you.
